A simple phrase. And yet powerful if fully realized and pursued.

And I was thinking about all the ways we make choices in our lives. How we decide what we will choose, what we will follow each day.
So here is a short list of what is most important for me to choose today:
I choose my husband. Even though he’s not perfect (and neither am I), even though we argue and disagree, even though we can hurt each others feelings; I choose him. I don’t just want to love him, but I choose to make him my priority everyday.
I choose my children. I know it may seem obvious. We all love our kids. But sometimes raising kids is hard. Sometimes they’re naughty. Sometimes they’re hurtful. I still choose them. Everyday. They will be a priority in my life.
I choose God. I choose to allow the Bible to change me and grow me. I don’t want to be the same from year to year. I want my life to look more and more like Jesus. I choose him the most.
And I know that choices can be made daily that can move me towards or take me away from these things. Often in life we don’t just make a one time decision for or against something. For many of us it is a daily choosing for these things. It takes intention. And hard work. And I don’t want to take it for granted.
This is what I choose.
No turning back.
What choices do you have before you today? What things do you need to decide to make a priority? What may you need to walk away from or towards?
